As the open water season winds down, the prep begins for our upcoming ice fishing season! If you haven’t had the opportunity to give it a try, let us guide you through the process to ensure all aspects of your experience is enjoyable. We have all of the necessary equipment needed for your trip. All that clients need to bring is warm clothing and anyone 16 and older will need a valid Maine fishing license for the day. Other than that all you will need to worry about is having a good time and catching some fish!

We offer two different ice fishing options for you to choose from. The first one is the half day option which runs 3-4 hours, which is great for first timers and also for families who have young kiddos and are not sure how long they can take being outside in the winter. We do have insulated heated shelters, but most of the time kids want to experience what everyone else is and if there are multiple kids and good snow a snowball fight usually occurs as well. The other option is a full day, which runs 6-8 hours. With this option we provide a warm cooked meal. Those meals many times consist of fresh pizza made in my Ooni oven, smash burgers, soft tacos, sausage and peppers, or beef stew to name the top menu options. For those that want the full experience, this is always my recommendation. Nothing beats a warm meal delicious meal while spending the day ice fishing in Maine!

We also make the fishing easy for all experience levels. We use traditional tip up or traps along with electronics and jig rods. By using multiple methods we ensure that we are maximizing our ability to put our clients on fish. Nothing is more exciting to see a flag go up on one of the traps and to see the arbor spinning as a fish takes the bait. That excitement never gets old!

So let us be your guide on the ice this winter! Go to www.petersonguideme.com or send an email to guides@petersonguideme.com and reserve your trip today. Weekends book quicker than other dates so sooner is better if this is something you have always wanted to do!
