Each day on the ice brings different factors such as weather or fishing conditions, but there is one constant and that is what we deliver for our clients. We make sure that each trip is seamless for the clients so all they have to do is show up ready to fish. Of course proper clothing is always important as it is winter and we are standing on a sheet of ice. We will guide you through that process leading up to your trip to ensure your comfort. On full day trips we prepare a warm meal that many people look forward to and is a vital part of the guided experience.

The main attraction for many clients in my first email to them is the heated insulated shelter. This will ensure that regardless of the temperature outside there will always be an opportunity to warm up. Many times the shelter will get so warm you can be in a t-shirt with no problem. Having this piece of mind is very important as we understand that it can be daunting thinking of standing on the ice exposed to the elements all day long.

Having warm food is essential to spending a whole day on the ice. A few years ago I had the idea of doing pizza on the ice. It was met with skepticism by many, but I believed it would work and I was right. The only hurdle was making sure that the dough would be warm enough to proof. With the heater in the insulated shelter it all came together. You really can’t beat eating fresh pizza in the middle of winter while standing in the middle of a frozen pond. Of course there are other food options other than pizza. Smash burgers are the other most requested item and personally you really can’t go wrong with this choice as well. The key is Vidalia onions on the Blackstone and smashing the patty down onto them. We also do a hearty beef stew, sausage and peppers or soft tacos. I have plenty of experience dealing with dietary issues so I am flexible and willing to accommodate to make your day enjoyable.

Lastly when you show up for your trip everything will be set up, holes drilled with traps set beside them and the heater going in the tent. After getting settled in we go through the process of setting the traps and waiting for a fish to take the bait. Clients can be as involved in the setting of the traps as they want. When it comes to pulling in your fish we will guide you through the process, but that is all in the clients hands. We feel that this is the best part and the most enjoyable and why we do what we do. Nothing is more fulfilling than pulling your first fish through a hole in the ice so book your trip today!
